The trip

The Clash comes home to Daytona

The Clash is NASCAR's preseason exhibition: Cup Series cars, no points on the line. It began at Daytona in 1979 as a short sprint for the previous season's fastest qualifiers. After a road course edition in 2021 it left Florida for the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, then Bowman Gray Stadium in North Carolina. Now it is back on the 2.5-mile oval, under the lights, as the first race of Speedweeks. The speedway is calling it a one-year return.

Daytona is about four hours from Tallahassee, and a night race puts the start of that drive home well after dark. So we drive it. The van picks you up in town, drops you at the speedway, and brings you back after the race. Nine seats, one driver, and the only thing you need to bring is your ticket.

0 of 9 seats booked. 4 more seats and the van runs.

A seat is $85.00. You pay when you book, and if the van does not fill, you get all of it back. It leaves in 151 days.

The Clash, and the track it started on

NASCAR keeps a gallery of every Clash winner, back to the first one. The speedway's Instagram and Facebook are the best look at the place as it gets ready.

Two tickets

Buy the ride here. Buy your race ticket from the speedway.

A seat on the van is not a seat in the grandstand. What we sell is the ride: we pick you up in Tallahassee, drop you at the speedway, and bring you home after the race. Getting into the race is between you and the speedway.

Daytona International Speedway sells Clash tickets on their own page, apart from the Daytona 500. If you already hold a Speedweeks package, read the questions and answers on that page first: they cover what some package holders get for this race.

How it goes

Getting on. Be at your pickup a few minutes early. The van leaves on time, and there is no second run to catch.

  • FSU Union
  • Governor's Square Mall

At the speedway. You are dropped at the track. Your race ticket is yours to buy; we only drive. Check the speedway's fan guide for what you can carry through the gate.

Coming home. The van waits for you at the time on your booking. Put that time in your phone before the green flag, then enjoy the race and let someone else do the four hours back.
