The trip

Free jazz downtown. No drive home.

The Jacksonville Jazz Festival is free, put on by the City of Jacksonville, and it has been going a long time: it began in 1980 as the Mayport and All That Jazz Festival. In 2026 the main stage was at Ford on Bay in the heart of downtown, with local jazz and R&B on a second stage at Riverfront Plaza, and a second line parade from one to the other.

It is about two and a half hours from Tallahassee, and the festival itself tells people to arrive early for parking or come by rideshare. So we drive it. The van takes you downtown, drops you near the festival, and brings you home at the end of the night. Nine seats, one driver, and nothing to buy at the gate.

0 of 9 seats booked. 4 more seats and the van runs.

A seat is $55.00. Pay now, and if the van does not fill, every cent comes back. It leaves in 256 days.

Photos and film

The festival, in its own pictures

The festival keeps photo galleries from years past, and its home page carries a recap film of 2026. Its Instagram and Facebook post updates all through the festival weekend.

No ticket needed

Buy the ride here. The festival is free.

The Jacksonville Jazz Festival is free to attend, and no ticket is required. What we sell is the ride: from Tallahassee to downtown Jacksonville, and home the same night.

If you want a seat near the main stage, the festival sells VIP and Preferred Seating packages, with their own bars and climate-controlled restrooms. They are optional, limited and non-refundable, and only the festival sells them.

The day

How it goes

Getting on. Be at your pickup a few minutes early. The van leaves on time and does not come back for a second run.

  • FSU Union
  • Governor's Square Mall

Downtown. Bags are searched on the way in. The festival lets you bring one sealed bottle of water and food of your own, and keeps out glass, outside alcohol, large coolers and pets. It goes ahead rain or shine, so check the weather before you leave home.

Coming home. The van waits for you at the time on your booking. Put that time in your phone before the music starts.
