The trip

Horror Nights on the night itself

For its 35th year, Horror Nights turns Universal Studios Florida into the Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, run by two of its own characters, Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow. One of the new houses is even set on a Halloween night, with the creature feature host H.R. Bloodengutz back at his television station for one last Halloween special.

Universal's own guide says October nights are often busier than September ones, and that some nights sell out. So get your event ticket first, then your seat. We do the four hours each way: the van takes you from Tallahassee to Universal and brings you back when the night is done.

0 of 9 seats booked. 4 more seats and the van runs.

A seat costs $90.00. If the van does not fill, you get every cent back. It leaves in 46 days.

Before you go

Scared already? Universal has a guide

If this is your first Horror Nights, Universal wrote a guide for people who scare easily, and a full list of this year's houses so you can pick your route. The Orlando accounts below show this year's event as Universal posts it.

Two tickets

Buy the ride here. Buy your Horror Nights ticket at universalorlando.com.

The seat on the van is the ride and nothing more: Tallahassee to Universal and back. Horror Nights is a ticket of its own, separate from a daytime park ticket, and getting in is between you and Universal.

Leave the costume at home. Universal does not allow costumes or costume masks on Horror Nights event nights, and it says the event may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for anyone under 13.

How it goes

Getting on. Get to your pickup a few minutes before the time on your booking. There is one van and one run.

  • FSU Union
  • Governor's Square Mall

At Universal. The van drops you at the resort and the night is yours. Your Horror Nights ticket is your own to buy; we are only the ride.

Coming home. The park's closing time moves from night to night. The van does not: it waits where it dropped you, at the time on your booking. Save that time in your phone before you join the first queue.
