The trip

A whole park turned gallery, for the day

Every winter EPCOT hands itself over to art. Chalk artists work where you can watch, painters turn out a Disney character in minutes, a giant paint-by-number mural waits for your mark, and the Food Studios plate dishes meant to be looked at before they are eaten. In the evenings, Broadway performers sing Disney songs at the America Gardens Theatre. It is one of the park's newer festivals, first held in 2017.

It is four hours from Tallahassee each way, and a day like that is spent on your feet. Eight hours behind the wheel on top of it is a lot to ask of anyone. So we drive: the van drops you at EPCOT and brings you home when the day is done, and your only plan is which gallery to start with.

The festival has no gallery of its own. Disney's festival page names the visiting artists and shows as they are announced, and Walt Disney World's Instagram and Facebook are the best look at the park as it is right now.

A seat on the van is not a park ticket, and we are not part of Walt Disney World. What we sell is the ride: we pick you up in Tallahassee, drop you at EPCOT, and bring you home at the end of the day. Getting into the park is between you and Disney.

Disney says the festival is included with valid EPCOT admission, and that a park reservation may be required depending on your ticket. Check both before you book a seat, and check that your ticket is for the day this van runs.

The Broadway concerts play several times each evening, come with park entry, and seat people as they arrive. If one of them is the reason you are going, check the show times against the time on your booking.

How it goes

Getting on. Be at your pickup a few minutes early. The van leaves on time and does not come back for a second run.

At the park. You are dropped at EPCOT. Your park ticket is your own to buy; we only drive. The art is spread all over the park, so pick the two or three things you most want to see before you walk in, and let the rest find you.

Coming home. The van is back where it dropped you at the time on your booking. Put that time in your phone as you step off, and leave yourself room for the walk out of the park.
